Sleepy Hollow Cemetery

540 N Broadway
Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591

The original Sleepy Hollow Cemetery is an historical, yet active cemetery.  The cemetery is situated in the beautiful Hudson Valley, 15 miles outside of New York City in Westchester County.

For generations, Sleepy Hollow Cemetery has been the choice of New Yorkers, and continues to be an extraordinary place of peace and rest - and an important part of New York's history.

Famous interments include Brooke Astor, Walter Chrysler, Samuel Gompers, Andrew Carnegie, William Rockefeller, Harry and Leona Helmsley, Elizabeth Arden, and Washington Irving, among many others.   Afternoon and evening (lantern) guided tours of the cemetery are available on select days, April through October.

Options for cemetery space include traditional in-ground interments, private family mausoleums, and the new community mausoleum.   The new community mausoleum is a state of the art facility providing above-ground casket interments, cremation interments, and a variety of crypts and cremation urn niches to meet various needs and budgets.  For traditional in-ground interments, families may select from single in-ground graves with a capacity of two interments.  There are also two-grave or larger lots as well as space in the historic areas of the cemetery available.  In addition, cremation plots for interments or columbaria are available.
