ABOUT US

Welcome to Roger W. Davis Funeral Home.  We believe that service is the most important thing that we can provide and we try to personalize every funeral service so it meets your needs and wishes.  We see serving families as our calling, not just a job, and we are more than happy to help you in whatever way we can.

Back in 1964, when Roger and Lillian Davis first open the doors to the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home, their goal was to give families the best possible treatment and care in their most difficult time of need.  The couple and their staff carried out this mission and passed their mission along to their son, R Scott Davis, who joined the family business in 1985.  After Roger's death in 1993, Lillian, her son, and daughter-in-law, Leichia, have continued to run the business under the original guiding principals established by Roger over 40 years ago.

Our funeral director, TJ Adkins, a licensed embalmer and graduate of the University of Cincinnati and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, is also here to assist you with all of the arrangements necessary for planning a funeral or memorial service.

Leaving behind the right monument for a loved one is important to many families.  We work with a special company, Flowers Monuments, to offer our clients a full line of monuments and markers.  These monuments come in granite and bronze and can be customized to suit your needs.  We also offer a full line of memorial gifts including items and paintings from Thomas Kincade.

SERVICES

Increasingly, families are looking for very personal services to meet their specific needs.  We are constantly upgrading and improving our facilities to offer you the most options during your time of need.  We can help you determine the right choice for your family - and coordinate everything for you.  Our facilities allow for a traditional funeral service to take place at the funeral home and we can also help coordinate a church service, memorial service, or reception.

PLANNING AHEAD

One of the most difficult things a family faces is dealing with the death of a loved one.

We plan for many of the important events - weddings, college tuition, family vacations, and other significant life events.  Pre-planning a funeral means that your wishes will be understood by your family and that some of the stress - both emotional and financial - can be lifted from the family during a very difficult and stressful time.

Pre-planning can mean:

  • Peace of Mind
Many who have undergone the emotional strain of arranging a funeral within hours of losing a loved one have made the choice to pre-plan their own funeral. Doing so lifts the burden from their loved ones by relieving decision-making pressure at a time of grief and emotional stress.
  • Personal Choice
Funeral arrangements are a deeply personal choice. Pre-planning provides you with the time needed to make practical, detailed decisions that reflect your standards, lifestyle, taste and budget. And we assure you and your family that the choices you make will be carried out as planned.
  • Lower Costs
When you finalize your plan, we can advise you of the total cost. You do not have to set aside funds for your plan, but doing so protects you against escalating funeral costs. By locking in today's funeral costs and ensuring that the necessary funds are set aside, you help relieve yourself of unnecessary future worry and your survivors of an unexpected expense.

Understanding the benefits of pre-planning has prompted many to pre-plan their own funeral.  Please contact us to set up an appointment to discuss pre-planning with a caring professional.  This service is FREE and it carries absolutely no obligation.  It is designed to specifically provide you with helpful information about funeral planning and the benefits of pre- planning.

TREE OF REMEMBERANCE MEMORIAL SERVICE

In 1993, we established the Tree of Remembrance Memorial Service.  This event is held on the second Saturday of December and includes guest speakers and signing to celebrate the event.  This is an opportunity for those in our community who have lost a loved one to come together and celebrate the lives and memories of these special people.  The West High School Chorus has provided musical inspiration at this event every year.  The "Tree of Remembrance" is illuminated throughout the holiday season, providing light and hope to the families we serve.
