Cypress Lawn Memorial Park was founded by Hamden Holmes Noble in 1892.  The cemetery has developed into a lasting institution for the community both because of its remarkable physical beauty as a park, and the solid management which has ensured its maintenance into perpetuity. 

Cypress Lawn Memorial Park represents the history of San Francisco itself.  Beginning with the historic Laurel Hill mound and continuing throughout the expansion of the park one finds group after group of American immigrants - all of the cultures that make up the history and fabric of San Francisco are represented. 

Cemetery property is still available today - and the care and commitment to Cypress Lawn will continue for generations in part through the Cypress Lawn Heritage Foundation.

With the addition of Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Reception Center on the property, Cypress lawn is the only service provider in Northern California to offer a cemetery, funeral home, crematory, and flower shop in one location.
